Some time ago on one of the groups about PHP, I asked people to fill out a survey about the hardware and software used. Below I present an analysis of several questions from that survey. All the data from the survey is available at the end of the text.
The survey was completed by 57 people. The initial section includes a metric. 41% of people work in software development companies.
Hardware
The survey shows that the typical computer for a PHP developer to work on is a Dell or Apple laptop provided by the employer with a screen size of up to 14.9 inches. The laptop has 32 GB of RAM and a 512 GB drive.
Hardware highlights from the survey, in the form of charts:
Software
A PHP developer works using the Linux operating system, most often Ubuntu, develops code in PHPStorm, and uses Docker for the local environment.

You can see the full results in the document. If you want you can increase the amount of data and fill out the survey. The data in the sheet will automatically update.
In the results document, it is worth looking at the answers in the questions "What other hardware do you use that improves the work of a PHP developer?" and "What other software do you use that improves the work of a PHP developer?". There are several suggestions out there that can improve a developer's work.
